“CHAMAÊ” IS A PODCAST CREATED IN PARTNERSHIP BETWEEN NUBANK AND RAPPER EMICIDA, DESIGNED TO EXPLORE — THROUGH A CULTURAL LENS — THE CONNECTIONS BETWEEN MONEY, BLACK IDENTITY, PHILOSOPHY, GENDER, AND FAME. I LED THE PROJECT FROM ITS INITIAL CONCEPT TO ITS FULL VISUAL AND SYMBOLIC EXECUTION, CRAFTING A SENSITIVE YET POWERFUL LANGUAGE TO TRANSLATE THESE CONVERSATIONS INTO SOUND AND IMAGE. EACH EPISODE WAS REPRESENTED BY AN ABSTRACT VISUAL SYMBOL TIED TO ITS THEME, FORMING A COHESIVE SYSTEM THAT REFERENCED BOTH AFRO-BRAZILIAN ANCESTRY AND CULTURALLY SIGNIFICANT BRAZILIAN ART — PARTICULARLY THE WORK OF RUBEM VALENTIM AND ABDIAS NASCIMENTO. CHAMAÊ DEBUTED AS THE SECOND MOST POPULAR SHOW ON SPOTIFY’S TOP CULTURE PODCASTS IN BRAZIL AND RANKED AMONG THE COUNTRY’S MOST LISTENED-TO PODCASTS DURING ITS LAUNCH WEEK. ITS REACH SPARKED THE FORMATION OF A COMMUNITY THROUGH LISTENING CIRCLES AND IN-PERSON EVENTS FOCUSED ON MARGINALIZED GROUPS — TAKING THE PROJECT’S NARRATIVE WELL BEYOND THE DIGITAL SPACE.
